Commissioned by Chubb for Art Basel Hong Kong 2025, Every Wish Lasts is an interactive installation conceived as a moment of pause within the intensity of the art fair. Blending RFID technology, spatial design, and real-time generative visuals, the work transforms personal intentions into a shared, immersive experience—inviting visitors to slow down, reflect, and participate in a quiet collective ritual.

The Collective’s role in this project encompassed interactive design, programming, and interactive hardware development, shaping both the experiential journey and the bespoke technological system that brings each wish to life.

The Experience

Every Wish Lasts unfolds as an interactive journey rooted in reflection, participation, and collective presence. Upon entering the installation, visitors receive an RFID token—an intimate vessel for inscribing a personal wish. This initial gesture marks the beginning of a contemplative process, encouraging participants to consider what truly matters to them.

Stepping into the Wishing Room, visitors release their token into the Wishing Well. In real time, each wish is translated into generative visual forms and revealed across a large-scale projection wall. Private intentions become visible, merging seamlessly into a living visual landscape shaped by collective participation.

Rather than prioritising spectacle, the installation frames interaction as ritual. The acts of writing, releasing, and witnessing create a rare moment of stillness within the fast-paced environment of Art Basel Hong Kong—allowing emotional and physical engagement to coexist.

Over the course of Art Basel Hong Kong 2025, thousands of visitors contributed wishes shaped by love, hope, and aspirations for the future. While the visual expressions are fleeting, Every Wish Lasts reflects on how individual intentions accumulate over time—and how the values we hold today quietly shape the legacy we leave behind.
